Fran and I are really looking forward to the holidays and the new year... 2011 has been an especially difficult one for our family. Fran's dad, Joe, died of complications from Alzheimer's on December 1. His family and friends gathered soon after for a really wonderful funeral. It was also a chance for me to meet extended family and offered Erin endless opportunities to play with her cousins. Fran and her siblings helped put together a memorial that really captured Joe's spirit. We still don't feel quite back to normal...
