She's back... After a week of a cold and ear infection, Erin is back to her usual easy-going, happy self and we've settled into a nice winter routine around the house. We've been lucky to have Grandma Beth staying with us for the past couple weeks to help out with Erin while we're at work.
Erin's language has really exploded (in a good way) over the past month. She can imitate nearly anything she hears. We're constantly surprised with new words. She loves to hear the ABC song, and can fill in missing letters. We often hear "ABP pa, ABP pa" (ABC song please). Grandma Beth has been teaching her to count up to ten using the snowflake decorations on our kitchen window. Erin also has learned her first two colors. Everything around the house is either "yellow" or not yellow (i.e. "blue"). She loves to practice all these new words at bedtime or naptime. We'll hear her chatting away in her room for over an hour before falling asleep. Beth heads back home tomorrow evening, but fortunately we've got a week of vacation coming up and Fran, Erin, and I will make a trip out west in the middle of this month.
